Gopher Angels David and Sara Russick began working on Gopher Angels in August of 2011. After building the platform, developing policies/procedures, and attracting deal flow, the first presentation meeting was held on March 1, 2012.The concept is to gather angel investors into a network where they can work collaboratively to make disciplined investment decisions in seed stage and early stage companies. Gopher Angels does not operate as a fund but rather each investor makes his/her own investment decisions.Since our initial meeting in 2012, GA has grown to 40 investor members. The organization is comprised of a very diverse group of members from a wide variety of industry sectors and professions. We include new to angel investing along side veteran investors. We have invested $2.1 million in 8 Minnesota based businesses.We welcome new members that qualify as accredited investors, will commit to invest $50,000 within two years in any increments and in any businesses they choose and are interested in working collaboratively with their peers.
