The Network Connect Supports the Extension of the Minnesota Angel Tax Credit

The Network Connect has witnessed the success of the Angel Tax Credit. The program helps make it easier for companies receiving certification from the state to attract angel investment. Investors have many investment opportunities and the Angel Tax Credit is beneficial in the following ways:

  1. It helps keep investment money in Minnesota through the funding of Minnesota’s entrepreneur-led companies and those small and growing businesses ready to expand — this creates jobs, tax revenue and other economic activity
  2. The tax credit sometimes leads to a larger investment — as the overall investment risk is lowered
  3. A business receiving certification has gone through more diligence and scrutiny preparing them to be ready for investment and be in better position to execute their business strategy

The following videos have been produced to help anyone with a role or stake in the process of extending the Angel Tax Credit beyond 2016. The Network Connect supports an extension of 10 years with an annual tax credit fund of $18-million. The legislative session for 2016 starts in March and providing positive communication with your state representatives is an appropriate action to take should you be willing to lend your support.
