The Midwest Research University Network (MRUN) is a not for profit organization whose purpose is to foster economic development and promote the advancement of science in the Midwest region by facilitating the formation and growth of technology and research-based startup enterprises stemming from Midwestern research institutions. MRUN aims to fulfill this charitable purpose through a focus on:

• advising and providing educational programming to inventors and college students seeking to establish businesses in the Midwest that have the potential to attract future private equity investment;
• strengthening the network of support resources, including research universities, incubators, accelerators, venture capitalists and other investors, and other organizations with similar charitable purposes to supply start-up enterprises with access to the capital, mentoring, space, and network necessary to develop and sustain a business utilizing research conducted at Midwest research institutions;
• providing a forum for sharing best practices and insights on the commercialization landscape; and
• supporting innovative technology to improve the quality of life in the Midwest and beyond.
